14 February 2005 - First mission

The first inception mission of the international consultant in Forest Policy and Institutions - Nikolai Ionov and the advisor - Ives Dube, started.

15 February 2005 - Project startup

Meeting of the FAO representatives with representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy of the Republic of Macedonia.

23 February 2005 - National Coordinator appointed

The Minister of Agriculture, Forests and Water Economy - Sadulla Duraki, appointed Jovica Ristovski as the National Consultant for the project. The Minister appointed also the Chairman of the Steering Commitiee - Petruš Popov, and its member in the Steering Commetiee - Zoran Zlatevski.

25 February 2005 - Invitation for Steering Commitee members

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy addressed letters to all identified Ministries, institutions and organizations as the biggest stakeholders.

8 March 2005 - First meeting of the Working Group

The members of the Working Group are defined and assignments are provided:

22 April 2005 - Ministerial Declaration

At 12:00h in the Conference hall of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy the Minister held a press release where declared the start of the project for "Institutional development and capacity building in forestry and forest industry subsectors". more...

16 May 2005 - Participatory Approach training

19 May 2005 - Regional meeting - Skopje

From 10:00h at the premisses of the FAO Coordination office in Skopje was held a regional meeting for learning of opinions and suggestions from the stakeholders on the topic "The relation of the forestry as an economical sector towards the forest as an eco-system". 25 October 2005 - Consultation Meeting

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy of the Republic of Macedonia, in the light of the formulation of the draft National Forestry Development Strategy for the Republic of Macedonia, organizes a national Consultation Meeting. Representatives of all relevant and all stakeholders' organizations and institutions of the Republic of Macedonia are invited to take part. The meeting will be in hotel Aleksandar Palace, from 12:00h.

11 November 2005 - Steering Committee meeting

The Steering Committee of the project had its second meeting in the meeting room of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy where the draft National Forestry Strategy for Sustainable Development was under consideraton. After the debate, the draft Strategy was greeted and accepted by the Steering Committee.

22 March 2006 - Expert Consultative Meeting

An Expert Consultative Meeting will be held at the Faculty of Forestry - Skopje on the 22 March 2006, on the draft Action Plan for sustainable development of the forestry in Macedonia. On the meeting will participate experts from several institutions and thay will discousse the draft Action Plan.

March 2006 - Regional Meetings

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water economy, together with the Food and Agriculture Organization, and with cooperation and coordination with the local-self govrnment is organizing regional meetings. They come in the light of the new draft Action plan for sustainable development of the forestry in Macedonia.
They will be organized in four cities acroas the Republic:
- 30 March 2006 - Prilep
- 31 March 2006 - Strumica
- 4 April 2006 - Kicevo
- 6 April 2006 - Sveti Nikole

19 Јune 2006 - Governmental Strategy adoption

On the 107th meetion go the Governemnt of the Republic of Macedonia, the Strategy for Sustainable Forestry Development in Republic of Macedonia with Action Plan for 2007 - 2009 was discused and adopted.

12 September 2006 - Technical meeting

A Technical meeting was held in organization of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy and helped by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. On the meeting there were present 18 participants - experts and stakeholders to the implementation of the Strategy for Sustainable Development of Forestry in the Republic Macedonia. The aim of the meeting was to identify the threats that may be encountered in the implementation of the Strategy for Sustainable Development of Forestry in the Republic of Macedonia and the Action Plan 2007 - 2009. more...

12 October 2006 - Forest Legislation Workshop

The Forestry Legislation Workshop was held in the Conference and Study Center at the National and University Library "St. Clement of Ohrid". The Workshop was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy and helped by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. On the meeting there were present 30 participants - experts and stakeholders to the implementation of the Strategy for Sustainable Development of Forestry in the Republic Macedonia.more...
